As some entertainers have made it clear, the stake of the industry in the socio-economic fortunes of the country has risen exponentially and has thus conferred on it as much right as any to be part of the political process.

For the highest office in the land, the pendulum seems to be swinging the way of only two candidates for the Aso Villa: President Goodluck Jonathan and General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd). N'Djamena (AFP) - Tens of thousands of people joined a march in N'Djamena on Saturday in support of Chadian troops heading to Nigeria and Cameroon to fight the Islamist group Boko Haram.Marching some five kilometres (three miles) through Chad's capital, demonstrators waved the national flag and chanted in French and Arabic: "Kick the forces of evil out of our territory."

Indonesia has executed by firing squad 38 year-old Nigerian Daniel Enemuo, four other foreigners and one local woman convicted of drugs offences.

They were executed on Sunday(Indonesia time), unleashing a diplomatic storm as Brazil and the Netherlands condemned the execution of their citizens.
The executions — the first under Indonesia’s new President Joko Widodo — were carried out by firing squad on foreigners hailing from Brazil, the Netherlands, Vietnam, Malawi and Nigeria.
Indonesia has tough anti-drugs laws and Widodo, who took office in October, has disappointed rights activists by voicing strong support for capital punishment despite his image as a reformist.

The Peoples Democratic Party has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari has been abandoned by the party leaders like former vice president Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the governor of Kano state.

In a statement issued by Olisa Metuh, National Publicity Secretary of the Poeples Democratic Party (PDP), in Abuja on Saturday he said the APC had continued to betray their inner aversion towards the candidacy of Buhari.The statement contended that the APC leadership had abandoned Buhari’s campaigns for the February 14 presidential election. The claim has been denied by the APC.
