Oluchi Anekwe A Unilag Student Who Died Of Electrocuted 11 KV Overhead Transmission Cable Will Be Compensated

  Its Barely a month today when Oluchi Anekwe a Unilag Student of Accounting,300-Level died of electrocuted 11 KV overhead transmission cable.Report got to us from kemifilani website that she will be heavily compensated. Oluchi died at about 7pm September 8,2015.Eko Electricity Distribution owned the 11 KV overhead transmission cable that killed the innocent unilag babe.May her soul rest in peace.
                             

   Though Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos,(UNILAG), Professor Rahmon Bello has said that proper compensation
must be made to the deceased family by Eko Electricity Distribution Plc,EKEDP.The Vice Chancello said this during a press interviewing at the institution conference centre.‘’The Federal Government panel findings has established that the faulty cable which caused Oluchi’s death belong to EKEDP which supplies power to Onike and other neighboring communities around UNILAG.
                                   
       EKEDP must pay compensation to the family of the deceased.‘’EKEDP has put in place an Assurance Policy by an Insurance company whereby a compensation will be paid to family of a deceased in case of lost of life. The Insurance company will be coming at the accident venue to assess how huge the damage and give their recommendations for compensation. As soon as this is done, we will know the amount.’’

      It was reported that late Oluchi Anekwe was not professionally handled when she arrived at the Medical Centre as at when the accident took place, Professor Rahmon Bello disclosed that the University panel has established that both the nurse and doctor on duty confirmed she had no pulse on arrival and she was brought in dead to the Medical Centre.
He said:
‘’In accordance with standard practice, while her body was deposited at the mortuary, an autopsy was conducted and the pathologist came to the conclusion that her death occurred within seconds to few minutes of contact with the 11KV electric cable.’
