Hip-life music artiste "Guru" whose real names are Nana Adjei Maradona has uncovered that overthrowing Stonebwoy as the musician of the year is not his priority.
Guru has worked so hard this year by producing great songs and has also performed high profiled shows both local and international which makes him one of the main contenders to unseat Stonebwoy.
According to him, though it’s pleasing to be tipped as the one to wrestle the title from Stonebwoy, winning just the VGMA is not his biggest goal because he is not only doing songs for Ghanaians.
“First of all, I thank those who have endorsed me as the favorite artiste to win the coveted artiste of the year award at the next VGMA. But my brother, am an artist who doesn’t do songs because of award. I’m not like the other artists who impose best rapper titles on themselves. It’s only the fans who can really judge who the best is. I always try to produce good songs for my fans.”
“I have fans all over the world. I recently performed for my fans in Gabon and in Dubai which they responded massively to my songs. so you see, It’s good to be awarded but honestly winning just the top prize at the VGMA is not my priority because am not only doing songs for Ghanaians.”
Guru is currently liberalizing his newest track ‘Exodus’. it’s a motivational song which talks about the essence of keeping up faith during hard times.
