Dont Abandon Babies Again, Ekiti First Lady Warn Nigerians.

The wife of Ekiti governor, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose, on Thursday condemned the act of dumping babies on refuse heaps.
She spoke during a visit to the Erelu Angela Adebayo Children Home at Iyin-Ekiti in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
“ Those mothers in the habit of abandoning their responsibilities to their children or babies are incurring the wrath of God.
” Mothers who are unable to take care of their babies should drop them at the motherless babies home through due process instead of dumping them on refuse heaps,’’ she said.

April 11 Polls: APGA Adopts Okezie Ikpeazu of PDP for Governor in Abia State

The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA Tuesday endorsed and adopted the Peopled Democratic Party, PDP candidate Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu as state APGA candidate, come April 11 governorship elections in Abia.
In a press conference in Umuahia, the state chairman of the APGA faction, Onapuruagu Prince Ukaegbu said the decision was “after a careful analyses and deliberations of the issues affecting the party within the state and at the national level”, stating that they are disassociating the state chapter of APGA from the “privatization and personalization” of the party by its former National Chairman, Chief Victor Ume whose tenure ended on the first day of November, 2014.
They rejected the entire list which they said Chief Umeh submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, describing the list as made up of “discredited and disgruntled members of PDP who lost their various party primaries” a day before that of APGA in the state and “thus displacing authentic candidates” of their party who had labored to build the party over the years.

POLICEMAN CHARGED FOR SHOOTING AN UNARMED MAN.


A police officer in Charleston, South Carolina, Michael T. Slager was charged with murder on Tuesday after a video showed him shooting an unarmed black man.
The 33-year-old policeman lied in a police report, stating that he had shot the victim, Walter Scott, 50, because he had forcefully taken his taser from him during a traffic stop, and was scared for his life.

Church Burnt Down, Pastor’s Daughter Killed in Kano.Nigeria

At least one person died, Monday, as irate youths set ablaze Baptist Church at Gidan Maso village in Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State, while the residence of the pastor, Rev Habila Garba, was also burnt.
This came barely days after unidentified arsonists attacked a branch of Living Faith Church, popularly called Winners Chapel, at Giwa in Kaduna State.
The deceased, one of the pastor’s daughters, was said to have died of suffocation as parts of the house were destroyed by the fire, which resulted from the attack at about 7:30p.m.
President of Tarayyar Masihiyawan Nijeria (Hausa, Fulani and Kanuri Christians), General Ishaku Ahmed Dikko (retd), told newsmen yesterday in Abuja that the intention was to kill one youth, Yahaya Joshua, who converted to Islam but later reverted to Christianity.
Dikko, in a statement, called on the state government to live up to its statutory responsibility of ensuring protection of lives and property.

DSTV STOPPED FROM INCREASING TARIFFS


In March, MultiChoice Nigeria Limited, owners of DStv announced a 20% price increase for all its satellite pay TV bouquets in Nigeria. Multichoice said the increase, which was supposed to take effect from April 1st, was necessary for them to continue offering good quality programming to its subscribers. But the increase is not going to happen for now after a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos restrained the company from increasing the tariffs.
The restraining order was given at the court following a class action suit filed by two Lagos-based lawyers, Osasuyi Adebayo and Oluyinka Oyeniji, challenging the increase. The judge said there should be no increase until the court meets on April 16th to hear the case.

Moving Train kill two in Lagos Nigeria

An unidentified young man, who had earphones on, was killed by a passenger train at Cappa area for Oshodi, Lagos, yesterday.
He was reportedly standing on the rail tracks.
Reports said the Ogun-bound mass transit train was leaving its Oshodi station to Mushin, when the accident occurred.
The train had, as usual, sounded its horn repeatedly as it was approaching the railway crossing at Ilupeju by-pass for clearance of its tracks.
