The All Progressives Congress Lagos has asked Ndigbo in Lagos to ignore and forget the unfortunate statement credited to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu when he addressed some Igbo Chiefs in Lagos over the weekend.
In a statement signed by Mr. Joe Igbokwe, the State Publicity Secretary of the Party apologized most sincerely to Ndigbo to bury the hatchet in the interest of peace and harmony, considering the long standing relationship that has existed between Igbo and Yoruba since the inception of Nigeria”

Days after she became the world’s oldest person, American Gertrude Weaver has died at the age of 116, US media reported.
Gertrude died Monday morning of complications from pneumonia, reports said.
Weaver passed away at the Silver Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center in the southern state of Arkansas, local TV station KATV reported.
Weaver was pronounced the world’s oldest person on April 1 after the death of 117-year-old Misao Okawa in Japan.
Weaver would have turned 117 on July 4.
She was aware of her unique status, the center said, according to the Washington Post.
“She knew that she was the oldest person in the world, and she enjoyed that distinction greatly. She enjoyed every phone call, every letter, every comment. Everything was read to her,” Kathy Langley, administrator of the Center, told the Post.

Oba of lagos vow to make life miserable for Igbos in Lagos if they fail to vote APC
Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, on Sunday read the riot act to Igbo leaders and monarchs in Lagos State, warning that he would make life miserable for them if they sabotaged efforts to ensure that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, is elected as governor of the state.
The visibly enraged monarch, who summoned all the Eze-Ndigbo in Lagos State to his palace, said the support of their kinsmen for the opposition party in the state could frustrate current efforts in all quarters at ensuring Lagos is no longer in opposition with the Federal Government.
He said: “On Saturday, if any one of you goes against Ambode, who I have picked, that is your end. If it doesn’t happen within seven days, just know that I am a bastard and it’s not my father who gave birth to me.
