Renard quits Cote d’Ivoire post



Cote d’Ivoire football federation president, Sidy Diallo, has confirmed that national team coach, Herve Renard, has vacated his position.
The coach arrived the West African country on Thursday and held talks with the football body, essentially to determine his release clause estimated to be around €400,000, Goal reports.
Renard, who led the Elephants to win the 2015 Africa Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea, had 18 months left on his contract.
Reports in France said he is on the verge of joining Ligue 1 side Lille, who confirmed the departure of Rene Girard this week.
His assistant Patrice Beaumelle – who also worked with him when he won the 2012 AFCON with Zambia – will also leave his post with the Ivoirians.

Senate poke fuel scarcity


THE Senate, on Thursday, resolved to investigate the biting fuel scarcity which has grounded activities nationwide.
The lawmakers, at the Thursday's sitting, mandated the Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream and Downstream), to immediately commence a probe into the remote and immediate causes of the scarcity.
Deputy Senate Majority Leader, Senator Abdul Ningi, had moved a motion to call the attention of his colleagues to the crisis.
