Nigerian Senate Warns On Fake Deputy's Twitter Account

The Nigerian Senate on Saturday, October 17 said that the twitter account @Ike_Ekweremadu is not associated with the deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu.
 Through its official twiiter handle, the senate warn the public to be wary of tweets from the said account.

The senate said: “The twitter account @Ike_Ekweremadu is not associated with the Deputy Senate President. Please take note.”

The bio of the said fake deputy senate president’s account reads: “Deputy Senate President of the eighth Assembly Federal Republic of Nigeria. Legal Practitioner.”


The said fake Twitter handle follows one person – the Nigerian senate handle – and has 4, 503 followers as at the time of this report

The senate however said it has been brought to its attention that @Ike_Ekweremadu is not associated with deputy Senate President, it called on the general public to take note.

However, tweets from the fake account highlights proceedings from the national assembly including congratulatory messages to the recently screened ministerial nominees and mentions to the official account of the Nigerian senate.

Meanwhile, the President Muhammadu Buhari and the senate president Bukola Saraki have been under fire from Igbo youth over an allegation by the president for the immediate removal of Ekweremadu.
